Canada Will Send Ukraine Another Shipment of Military Equipment

INTERNATIONAL: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday has said he told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in a call that Canada will send Ukraine another shipment of highly-specialized military equipment.

Trudeau has also said that he also invited Zelenskiy to address Canada's parliament.

Canada's premier has visited members of the Ukrainian community at a church in Toronto on Friday where he said Canadians stood in solidarity with Ukrainians in their fight to defend their homeland as armed conflicted rages on with Russia.

"It is Ukraine's misfortune that Russian President Vladimir Putin chose Ukraine to start this, but it is the world's good fortune that Ukrainians are courageous lions," Trudeau has said in his remarks, before visiting with various members of the community, some of whom were dressed in traditional clothing.

In the days since Russia invaded Ukraine, over two million people have fled the country. The UN refugee agency estimates upwards of four million will be displaced by the conflict. The European response to the Ukrainian refugee crisis shows how generous states can be when put to the test.
